DRUG SUBSTITUTION
Prozac is a commonly prescribed pharmaceutical drug to treat depression. Prozac is an antidepressant in a drug group called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs. Prozac is taken orally for administration. Prozac affects chemical receptors in the brain that react to depression, panic, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive symptoms. Prozac is prescribed to treat depression or major depressive disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, bulimia nervosa an eating disorder and premenstrual dysphoric disorder as Sarafem. Prozac is prescribed for Major Depressive Disorder pediatric patients aged 8 to 18 years old. Taking Prozac may not result in desired effects until four weeks of treatment or longer.
Some signs of allergic reactions are skin rashes or hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of face, tongue, throat or lips. More severe side effects from using Prozac are Sever blistering, peeling and red skin rash. Very stiff muscles, high fever, sweating, fast or uneven heartbeats, tremors, and overactive reflexes. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, feeling unsteady, loss of coordination. Headache, trouble concentrating, memory problems, weakness, confusion, hallucination, fainting, seizure, shallow breathing or breathing that stops. Sings indicating a doctor call are if you feel impulsive, restless, agitated, irritable, aggressive, hostile, hyperactive, more depressed, or have thoughts about suicide.
